Yours truly on the practice day of this weekend's endurance autocross. As you read this, I'll be getting ready to do some more sliding for a lap time that actually counts!

A Firebird on Autocross?

About 1977 I had a gold 1969 Firebird. No hood tach though. 350 2 bbl, automatic, single exhaust. Looked very much like that. White seats with a column shift. The column shift was kind of weird to be in a Firebird.

This car is a 350 4 bbl (H.O.!) automatic (floor shift) with a gold interior that makes it a pain in the butt to find seats for it. This car also lacks a hood tach.

Instead of 4 one-lap runs with a 5-10 minute break between, you get one 5-lap run on a course that's usually a bit more technical.

Funny, on the little picture a reflection I guess looked like a hood tach. Since you pointed it out, I can see on this large one it's just a reflection. I'm going to have to dig up a picture of mine; very similar.

I've thought about putting a hood tach, I have one my dad found in a scrap yard years ago, but I really don't want to cut holes in the original hood. Plus I have a Monster (That's literally the model name of the tach) strapped to the steering column.
